Tell us about your production

These questions help us quote your project and understand your production. If you fill them in, we can move faster.

Answer what you can and skip the rest; no question is required. Your answers stay in this browser until you send them by email or print them. The steps follow the Lean Robotics method by Samuel Bouchard.

01

Your details

So we know who to reply to.

02

Cell customer

Start from the end: who uses what this cell makes.

An internal customer (next workstation, assembly, shipping) or an external customer.
03

Output

What the cell must deliver, and in what form.

Complete the sentence: “To do my work, I need you to give me…”
Complete the sentence: “…so I can…”
How are finished parts arranged?

Are they singulated? How much space is around each part?

How are finished parts packed?
Where do finished parts go?

Drawings, photos and videos of the output area help. You can attach them to the email.

04

Parts and input

The parts the cell will handle and how they arrive.

Parts

Number of part types or part families.
Smallest to largest, length × width × height in mm or in.
Lightest to heaviest, in kg or lb.
For example: steel blank, semi-finished aluminum, raw cast iron, oily or polished surface.

Changes over time

Per shift, per day or per week.
New part families you already expect.

How parts arrive

How are raw parts arranged?

Are they singulated? How much space is around each part?

How are raw parts packed?
Are parts moving when they are picked?

Part drawings help most: 3D CAD in STEP or IGES. Photos and videos of the input area are welcome too.

05

Machine and interface

How the cell connects to your CNC machine. This tells us whether the door, the clamping or the machine itself needs changes.

For example: FANUC Robodrill α-D21MiB5.
How is the part clamped in the machine?

Fixture, chuck or vise.

Machine door
06

Current process

List the steps the operator does today. Split the time into value-added (VA: the part changes) and non-value-added (NVA: walking, waiting, handling, checking).

A short video of one full manual cycle is the most useful thing you can send us.

07

Information flow

The information the operator uses during the job: work orders, part numbers, programs, labels, barcodes, quality forms, ERP screens, handwritten notes. For each one, tell us where it comes from, where it goes, its format and how it is used.

08

Targets and KPIs

How you measure this station today.

OEE, output, cycle time, scrap rate, uptime.
Manual tracking, MES or ERP, stopwatch, sensors.
Parts per year for this station.
09

Summary

In your own words.

Bottlenecks, constraints, what success looks like for you.
